The funeral of Mrs. Clara Hogue, who died at her home near Colbert, Saturday week, took place Sunday from the residence of Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Holmes (parents of the deceased), on West Gandy street, the interment being at Oakwood Cemetery. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. W.H. Robert, and the remains were followed to their last resting place by a large concourse of friends.
Mrs. Hogue's death was very sudden. Saturday morning she was attending to her customary household duties until about 8 o'clock, when she was suddenly taken ill, and in a few brief minutes was dead. She had been suffering previously with dropsy, and this is thought to have been the cause of death.
