The Sunday Gazetteer Sunday, November 24, 1889 pg. 4 DIED The Gazetteer regrets to learn of the death of Miss Belle Steele, daughter of R.G. Steele, which occured on the May farm, near this city, Thursday morning last. The deceased was in the bloom of womanhood, and universally esteemed by all who knew her. She was taken sick about three weeks ago, the disease culminating in that fatal malady, typhoid fever. The burial took place at Oakwood Cemetery at 10 o'clock Friday morning. The Sunday Gazetteer Sunday, January 19, 1890 pg. 1 DIED On January 14, 1890, of pneumonia, Mrs. Fannie G. Steele, wife of Mr. R.G. Steele, at their home four miles west of Denison, after having been sick two weeks. Mrs. Steele was born in Alabama, and was 51 years of age. She leaves a husband and seven children to mourn her loss. On the twenty-first day of last November their grown daughter, Miss Belle, died, and Mrs. Steele never recovered from her grief for her loved child, but gradually grew more feeble, until she was taken to her bed. She was a consistant member of the Christian Church, and was a fond mother and an affectionate and faithful wife. She was always ready to relieve the sick and needy, and was loved by all who knew her. She was buried at Oakwood Cemetery, in Denison, and was followed to the grave by a large number of mourning friends.
