(source : 1930 Grayson Co., Texas census) The Denison Press Friday, February 23, 1951 pg. 4 DEATHS Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at Bratcher-Moore chapel for Tom McCarty, 78, who died Monday in a local hospital after a lengthy illness. Rev. Milton Kresse officiated and interment was in Oakwood cemetery under direction of Bratcher-Moore. Mr. McCarthy was born in Macon, Georgia, but had lived in Denison for the past 50 years. His home was at 1001 W. Star street. He was married in Bonham, Nov. 8, 1897 to Maud Leanna Segler. He was a member of the Bonham Baptist church. Surviving are his widow; four sons, Jesse of Forth Worth; Floyd of Lynwood; George of Little Rock; and Archie McCarty; four daughters, Mrs. Bertha Swindle, Mrs. Bessie Moreland and Mrs. F.M. Work, all of Denison; and Mrs. Ruby McCoy, Dayton, Ohio; a brother, Burl McCarty of Dallas; a sister, Mrs. Emma Lamb of Denison; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  OAKWOOD CEMETERY
