Sherman Daily Democrat Thursday, December 9, 1920 pg.5 Denison, Texas, Dec. 9 - Charles Eaton, for many years one of the employes of the Katy shops, died at his home, 712 West Herron, last night at 9:35 o'clock. He is survived by his widow. The Denison Press Monday, December 30, 1940 pg. 1 Mrs. Annie Eaton, 88, a resident of Denison sixty-eight years died Sunday morning at 8:30 at her home, 712 West Herron street, following an illness of two weeks. Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2:30 from the home with Rev. J.C. Oglesby officiating. Interment was at Oakwood, Denison Funeral Homer directing. Deceased was born as Annie McHanson November 21, 1852 at Waterbury, Connecticut, as daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. McHanson and came to Denison in 1872. On November 14, two years later, she was married to Charles Eaton in the home here of Dr. and Mrs. A.W. Acheson, pioneer Denisonians. Mr. Eaton, more popularly known as Uncle Charlie was at the time of his death, December 7, 1920, the oldest railroad man in seniority years. He had the longest continuous service with the Katy railroad, beginning in 1873 and continuing until a short time before his death. Mrs. Eaton was a member of the Episcopal church. Surviving are a son, W.C. Eaton of Atoka, Oklahoma; a daughter, Mrs. Henry Tucker of Denison; and two grandchildren, Geraldine Eaton of Atoka and Murry Eaton Tucker of East Orange, New Jersey.
