Emma Wheeler Willie Wheeler Lizzie Wheeler Children of D.F. & A.S. Wheeler The Sunday Gazetteer Sunday, June 15, 1890 pg. 4 D.F. WHEELER DEAD The numerous friends of D.F. Wheeler, the stone-work contractor, were startled Monday morning by the intelligence that he had died suddenly the previous night of heart disease. He had been ailing for a long time with asthma, which gave him some trouble at intervals, but up to within a few hours of his death no fears of immediate danger seem to have been entertained. About 9 o'clock Sunday night, however, Dr. Acheson, who is the family physician, was sent for in haste, and when he arrived his patient was dead. Mr. Wheeler was an old and respected citizen of the Gate City, and his sudden taking off occasions the deepest regret. The deceased was a member in prominent standing of the order of Odd Fellows, and also of the G.A.R., and it was under the auspices of these organizations that the funeral took place Monday at 4 p.m. The funeral services were held at the family residence, No. 623 Walker street, and the interment took place at Oakwood Cemetery. The Gazetteer condoles with the bereaved family over their heavy loss. OAKWOOD CEMETERY
