Denison TEXAS DEATH CERTIFICATE #24928 El Paso Herald July 8, 1910 A NINETEEN YEAR OLD BOY ENDS HIW OWN LIFE Denison, Tex., July 8. - Elsie Yancey [sic], a 19-year-old boy, killed himself htere this morning by drinking carbolic acid. The you th lived a few hours, but did not discuss his self destruction. He left a note addressed to his mother, with the simple words: "Goodbye mama. All in, down and out." The Sunday Gazetteer Sunday, July 10, 1910 A man named L.Z. Yancy, who has been employed in the mattress factory, engaged a room over Rock Pastore's restaurant Friday morning and left orders to be called at 5 o'clock. About 10 o'clock he came down and went up the street and tried to purchase carbolic acid at Harvey's drug store, but was refused. He then went up stairs to Dr. Sullivan's office and almost immediately expired. A bottle labeled carbolic acid was found in his room by Marshall Wisdom with a small portion of the drug remaining in the botte. He had no family, but an uncle and aunt are living here, and took charge of the body. He left a note bidding his friends good bye and expressing the hope of meeting them in an other world, which was turned over to Judge Mixson.
