SUDDEN DEATH
Jerry Ward, residing in a tent east of the city one mile, died suddenly Wednesday afternoon of hemorrage.  Ward had been over in the city spending a few hours, and returned home about noon on horseback.  He was attending to some chores about the tent when blood began gushing from his mouth.  He staggered to the entrance of the tent, and in much less time than it takes to record it, was dead.  A courier was dispatched to the city for Dr. Jones.  On his arrival, however, the man had been dead some time.  Justice Pearson was notified, arrangments for burial were made, and Thursday the body was interred in Oakwood cemetery.
Mrs. Ward stated to the Gazetteer reporter that her husband had been in poor health for a year or more, and that the death, while expected, was not looked for in the manner it came.
Mr. Freeman, secretary for the Y.M.C.A., visited the camp Wednesday afternoon and has rendered much relief in a substantial direction.  Mr. Ward was about 30 years of age.
