Denison Denison - Funeral services for Rhonda Jean Williams were held Wednesday morning, December 5, 2018 at the Haven Chapel United Methodist Church in Denison. Rev. Rosalyn C. Hilburn of the church officiated. Burial followed at Oakwood Cemetery in Denison. Ms. Williams, 59, passed away Friday, November 30, 2018 at Texoma Medical Center. Rhonda Jean Williams was born on August 17, 1959 in Sacramento, California; her parents were Theodore Williams, the late Doris Jean Williams, and the late Tommie B. Williams. She received her early schooling in the Denison and Grand Prairie public schools and graduated from Grand Prairie High School. She attended North Texas State University in Denton, Texas, where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance. She was employed with the Bank of America for 18 years and First United Bank, formerly American Bank of Texas, for 18 years. Ms. Williams was a lifetime member of Haven Chapel UMC in Denison, where she served in many capacities. She served as Finance Chairman, Trustee Chairman, Pastor Parish Relations Chair, Christian Education Chair, and a Communion Stewart. Rhonda loved the Lord, her family and her community. She loved reading, traveling, cooking, and spending time with family. She was active in the North Town Shalom for over 10 years, NAACP, Texoma BPW, and other organizations in the community. She was preceded in death by her mother, Doris Jean Williams; step-mother, Tommie B. Williams; and grandparents, Sam and Faustine Burton. She is survived by her father, Theodore Williams; brothers, Rodney Wilson of Denison and Robert Holt of El Paso; sisters, Sylvia Holt of Grand Prairie and Sondra Holt of Mansfield; nieces, Shirhonda Benjamin of Sherman; Briana Holt of New York; Dahlia Holt of El Paso; Bettina Bryant (Kelly) of Denison; great-nieces, Alyssa Benjamin (God Child), and Kennedy Benjamin, both of Sherman; Saige Ballard of Little Elm; Nova Holt and Violet Holt of Celina; nephews, Rodney Wilson, Jr. (Michelle) of Little Elm and Jerrin Holt of Celina; great-nephews, Ryan Benjamin of Sherman; Kayden Bryant of Denison; Jared Holt of Denton; Kyle Holt of El Paso; Rodney Ballard of Denton; Elijah Holt of Celina. She is also survived by sister-in-law, Deborah Wilson; Godmother, Eloise White; special friends, Willie Wimbish and Laura McGlynn; and a host of cousins and friends.
