Denison Gainesville Daily Hesperian Saturday, November 10, 1888 pg. 1 BLEW OUT HER BRAINS Denison, Texas, November 8 - Miss Minnie Thomas, an estimable young lady of this city, who lived with her parents on Nelson street, committed suicide this afternoon at 2 o'clock by shooting herself with a 32-caliber pistol through the brain. The young lady had just returned home from an extended trip to Waukesha, Wisconsin and other Northern health resorts, where she had been hoping to regain her health, which had been very bad for a year or more. The young lady's mind had become impared from her long sickness. During the year she had been at Nevada, Missouri in the asylum and it was thought by her parents and immediate friends that she had about recovered. Miss Thomas was a sister of Henry Thomas, the founder of the Texas Labor Siftings. OAKWOOD CEMETERY
