CALVIN G. PETTY DIES FOLLOWING A FALL THIS WEEK
Calvin Green Petty, 86, who suffered injuried from a fall a few days ago, died at his residence, 513 W. Coffin street at 8:22 p.m. Thursday.  He had made his home for some time with a niece, Mrs. A.M. Looper, for the past two years.
Mr. Petty was born in Tennessee. October 16, 1850, his parents being Mr. and Mrs. W.J. Petty.  He had farmed until he retired several years ago from a farm at Stockton, Missouri.
Funeral services were conducted under auspices of the Methodist church of which he was a member, the pastor, Rev. S.M. Roberts, officiating.  Interment was at Oakwood with Short-Murray directing.
Surviving are nephews, Frank Orbin Petty and a niece, Mrs. O.O. Brown, all of Stockton, besides three nieces and a nephew in Texas.  They are Mrs. A.M. Looper, Mrs. Arthur Burke of Denison; Mrs. S.C. Swanson, Ft. Worth and J.W. Petty of Denison.  A brother, G. Petty, lives at Stockton, Missouri.
With the family, Mr. Petty moved to Stockton when a small boy where he received his education.  Twenty-five years ago he came to this city and made his home with a sister, Mrs. T.W. Collins, until her death, January 4, 1936.  Since that time he has resided with Mrs. Looper.
The pallbearers were F. Drewery, E.H. Negle, Bud Mathis, Noland Sheniel, Robert Parker and Murl Dickson.
