Denison In
July 1877 James Keith was placed on a committee, i.e. special police
force, for public safety during the railroad employees strike, by order
of Mayor R.M. Grubbs. (The Sunday Gazetteer, July 28, 1877, pg.4) The Sunday Gazetteer Sunday, August 10, 1890 James Keith, who had been very sick for several weeks, died Sunday evening at 5:30, at the home of Wm. Emerson, on West Main street. The funeral took place Monday afternoon, interment taking place at Oakwood cemetery. OAKWOOD CEMETERY
