Denison The Sunday Gazetteer Sunday, August 7, 1887 pg. 4 DIED Three deaths were reported in the city Tuesday night. Mrs. Steedman, who has been confined to bed for several months with consumption, died at her home on Chandler avenue; Pearl Johnson. 3-year-old daughter of Mr. J.S. Johnson, who resides on Morgan street, died the same night. as well as a Mr. Brigman [sic], who also lived on Morgan street. The funeral of Mrs. Steedman and Mr. Brigham took place Wednesday, but that of little Pearl Johnson was deferred until Thursday afternoon, in consequence of the absence in Kansas City of the father, who was telegraphed for, and arrived Wednesday night. DIED Francis Pearl, aged 5 years, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.S. Johnson, died of diptheria Tuesday, August 2d, 1887, after an illness of only a few days. Mr. Johnson, being absent from home did not get back till after little Pearl had breathed her last. Mr. and Mrs. Johnson desire to return their thanks to friends for their kindness and sympathy, and more especially to Dr. Acheson for his close attention on the little one. OAKWOOD CEMETERY
