Denison The Sunday Gazetteer Denison, Texas Sunday, May 28, 1893 HANK SHERIDAN'S SUDDEN DEATH Tuesday evening, just after noon, Hank Sheridan, the horse man and jockey who has been seen about the city for three or more years, was at the saloon on South Austin avenue between Chestnut and Crawford streets. He complained of being sick and laid down in the alley. In a very few minutes someone, who was passing, noticed his peculiar actions. A physician was summoned but on his arrival Hank Sheridan was dead. Justice Hughes was notified of the circumstance. The body was examined and an order was issued to undertaker Lindsey for the remains to be buried on account of Grayson county. Sheridan came to Denison something over three years ago and was with the Nolan livery stable over a year. Of late he has had no particular stopping place. He was about 35 years of age, was unmarried and the supposition is that he died from excessive drink. The body was interred in the stranger's burial ground in Oakwood cemetery. OAKWOOD CEMETERY
