Denison The Sunday Gazetteer Sunday, January 7, 1894 pg. 4 MORTUARY Tuesday morning between 11 and 12 o'clock Mr. Charles H. Muchmore died at his room at C.C. McCarty's on Gandy street. Mr. Muchmore was in his 72nd year and had been making Denison his home for something over 8 years. In former years he was a division superintendent on one of the northern railroads and was a man of considerable wealth and influence. He lost his position and property and drifted south and since making Denison his home he has followed the trade of carpenter and joiner. He has a son in St. Joe, Missouri and numerous relatives in Chicago and New York. The remains were interred in Oakwood Cemetery Wednesday morning. He was a kind-hearted man and probably his greatest fault was his liberality. Mr. Muchmore's first work in Denison was the construction of the big red gin building. He was an old-time friend of Mr. W.T. Cackley, of this city, and of late years they were together a great deal. In his prosperous days Mr. Muchmore purchased a farm in south Chicago, but it was soon disposed of. To-day the property is probably worth more than a million dollars. OAKWOOD CEMETERY
