Denison The Sunday Gazetteer Sunday, May 15, 1910 pg. 3 MRS. HARNEST DEAD Mrs. Ann N. Harnest, who had reached the age of eighty years, passed away last Sunday. The old lady had been seriously ill and death was not unexpected. Death took place at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Burt, with whom she had made her home since her arrival from Arkansas. A number of years ago Mr. and Mrs. Harnest were residents of Denison. Mr. Harnest died after leaving Denison. Mrs. Harnest exemplified in her life all of the noble traits of the pioneer woman. She had no affectations, no surface veneer. She was a true woman in all that the expression implies. The funeral took place at the home of Mrs. Burt. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery. Mrs. Harnest is survived by a son, James Harnest; a daughter, Mrs. Mattie Burt; grandchildren, Mrs. Mable Long, Mrs. Robert Slagle, Mrs. Will Nicholson, James Hogg, Miss Annie Hogg, and Miss Flora Harnest, all of Denison.
