Denison The Denison Press Monday, February 9, 1942 pg. 1 DEATH ROLL James William Beck, 72, retired Katy switchman, died Sunday night at 8 o'clock following an illness since Christmas, all of which time was spent in a local hospital. Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 10:30 from Short-Murray chapel. Interment will be at Oakwood cemetery with Short-Murray directing. Mr. Beck was born April 3, 1869 in Rayburn County, Georgia, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Beck and was reared and educated in Georgia, coming to Denison in 1898 a switchman and accepting a similar position with the Katy. He was married here to Miss Mildred Ellen Perkins on August 1, 1901. Mrs. Beck died January 9, 1922. Surviving is a son, James William Beck, Jr., of Norman, Oklahoma. OAKWOOD CEMETERY
