Denison The Denison Press Tuesday, January 24, 1939 pg. 1 RESIDENT OF DENISON ONE MONTH, DIES MONDAY George G. Barnett, 56, a cement finisher and resident of Denison one month, coming here from Gainesville, died Monday at a local hospital. He had been ill the past five days and was in the hospital only a few hours. He lived at 631 West Star street. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:30 from Short-Murray chapel. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery with Short-Murray directing. Barnett was born July 17, 1882 in Arkansas, a son of Mr. and Mrs. Doc Barnett and received his education in Wood county, Texas. He married Mrs. Leona Miller at Durant August 23, 1919. He was a member of the Baptist church. Surviving is his widow, a step-son Clyde Miller of Junction, Texas; a daughter Mrs. Lila Morgan of Tankersville, Okla.; two brothers, Jim and Minor Barnett and a sister Mrs. J.W. Pace of Ardmore.
