  Doris Cowden 1940 -   William Bruce Cowden, age 78, passed away, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, December 8, 2017, at his residence in Sherman, Texas. He was born on January 1, 1939 in Fargo, North Dakota, to William Jason Cowden and Hazel Amanda Olsen Cowden. He married Doris Ann Williamson in Denison, Texas on July 27, 1957 and to this union was born four wonderful children, Walter, Allen, Renee and Julie. He was of the Presbyterian faith. William spent many years serving his country in the United States Air Force until his retirement. He loved all animals but especially enjoy raising and spending time with miniature horses. He is survived by his wife, of their home, Doris Cowden; children: Walter Bruce Cowden & Holly of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Allen Wayne Cowden & Connie of Tom Bean, Texas; Doris Renee Douglas & Neal of Sherman, Texas; & Julie Ann Crouse of Denison, Texas; brother; Walter Leslie Cowden & Karie of Shelly, Minnesota; twenty seven (27) grandchildren, several great & great-great grandchildren; and other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William & Hazel Cowden; brother, Jack McMullen; and a grandson; Danny Allen Crouse. Funeral service were held on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at 12:00 Noon, at American Funeral Service Chapel, Denison, Texas with the Chaplain of the U.S. Air Force officiating. Interment followed at Oakridge Cemetery, Denison, Texas. Pallbearers were Walter B. Cowden, Allen W. Cowden, William B. Cowden, James Cowden, Bill Cowden and Kyle Herd.
