W.F. Mallory, who resides east of Denison, was seriously if not fatally injured in a runaway Thursday on Pawpaw hill.  The team became frightened and ran away.  Mr. Mallory was thrown out and it is supposed the wagon passed over his body.  The injured man was picked up from the road and brought to Denison where Drs. E.L. Seay and W.G. Terry gave him attention.

W.S. [sic] Mallory, who was thrown out of his wagon in a runaway on Paw-Paw hill east,  died this Friday morning.

CONDENSED HOME NEWS
The funeral of Mr. Mallory who was killed in a runaway on Paw -Paw Hill took place Saturday morning.  The interment was at the Lankford burial grounds.  Quite a large number went from Denison.
The Paw-Paw Hill road which cost Mr. Mallory his life is an object lesson.  Thousands of dollars have been expended on that piece of road that from top to end of descent is not over 1,000 yards in length.  A great deal of money has been wasted by incompetent road bosses. The descent is too abrupt and at the present time is full of rocks which jolt a wagon every moment.  The cut on the hill should be made deeper and the descent more gradual.

CONDENSED HOME NEWS
The people of Shiloh community, a few miles east of the city, will to-day, Sunday, join in a religious and fraternal celebration.  At 11 o'clock in the morning, Rev. J.K.P. Williams, who has been pastor for the local Baptist Church for something over 30 years, will preach the funeral of Mr. W.F. Mallory.  Dinner will then be served on the ground in old camp meeting style. After this the Woodmen will conduct services attendant upon the unveiling of a monument erected by the order in memory of Mr. Mallory.  Mr. Mallory was a prominent farmer residing in that community, a deacon in the church and a member of the Woodmen camp.  While en route to the city about a year ago he met a tragic death from a runaway team on Papaw [sic] hill.   If the weather is pleasant the attendance will no doubt be unusually large.
