 The Herald Democrat September 10, 2013 Calera, Oklahoma - Jerry Don Nunley, 69, passed away Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Texoma Medical Center, Denison, Texas. Jerry was born January 19, 1944, son of Jasper and Delia Owens Nunley in Denison. Mr. Nunley lived in the Texoma area for many years, but he enjoyed traveling and had a special love for Washington state. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and he simply liked being outdoors. Jerry was an experienced wine maker and was proud to show off his latest creation to his family and friends. Mr. Nunley knew how to be serious, but deep down he loved telling a good joke and laughing with others. He was a long standing member and chaplain of the American Legion Post 62. Mr. Nunley is survived by his two daughters, Cheryl Palmer and Charlee Nunley, both of Denison; two son, Charles Nunley of Denison and Russel Nunley of Sherman; 8 grandchildren, Michael Palmer, Cody and Brandon Palmer, Tyler Staub, Emily Nunley, Jacy Nunley, Jordan Nunley and Jarrell Hargrove; 6 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers, Jimmy Nunley, Glen Nunley, Michael Nunley, and Steve Nunley; 2 sisters, Sandra McCarson and Karla Corwin; and numerous nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Cara Colvin; 2 brothers, Larry and Elmo Nunley; and sister, Marlene Barnhill. Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at the Fisher Funeral Chapel with Rev. Raymond England officiating. Interment followed at Oakridge Cemetery, Denison. Pallbearers were Brandon Palmer, Michael Palmer, Cody Palmer, Tyler Staub, Christopher Nunley, and Jesse Nunley. Services were under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, Denison. The Herald Democrat December 20, 2009 Denison - Memorial services for Larry Wayne Nunley, 62-year-old Denison resident, were Monday, December 21, 2009 at Johnson-Moore Chapel Chapel with Ray Click officiating. Mr. Nunley died Thursday, December 17, 2009 at Texoma Medical Center. Mr. Nunley was born November 22, 1947 in Durant, Oklahoma, son of Jasper Clinton and Delphia Marie Owens Nunley. On August 6, 1965 he married Treasa Goode in Durant, Oklahoma. Mr. Nunley worked in construction and was a past member of the Elks Lodge. Surviving are his wife; brothers, Jerry Nunley, Jim Nunley, Michael Nunley and wife, Jennifer; Steven Nunley and wife, Holly; and Glen Nunley; and brother-in-law, John Barnhill; sisters, Sandy McCarson and husband, Ronnie; and Karla Corwin and husband, Jim; sister-in-law, Terri Winters and husband, Paul; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marlene Barnhill; and brother, Elmo Yarbrough. If you would like to bring a dish and tell a story about Larry, come to the Oakridge Community Center after the service to visit with family and friends.
