Denison - Daniel Wayne Witcher, 66, entered into eternal life Sunday, February 3, 2013 at his home after a short courageous battle with cancer.
Mr. Witcher was born February 27, 1946 in Santa Paula, California, son of Earl and Faye (Follis) Witcher.  Mr. Witcher married the love of his life, Dawn, in May of 1970 and enjoyed 42 years of marriage.  Dan was a resident of Denison for more than 43 years. He worked doing home improvements most of his life and served the community as a local business owner.  He was an award-winning skeet shooter.  Dan loved the outdoors, especially fishing and gardening.  But most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle.  Dan will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Witcher is survived by his beloved family: wife, Dawn Witcher, of Denison, Texas; children, Dan Witcher Jr, of Minnesota; Lisa Simpson of Pottsboro, Texas; Chris Witcher of Dallas, Texas; and Chad Witcher of Denison; 9 grandchildren; siblings, Linda Critton and husband, Denis, of Missouri; Jeff Bramblett and wife, Tanya, of Dallas; and Barbara Gaither and husband, Tim, of Sherman, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Horace Groff officiating. Interment followed in Oakridge Cemetery.   Pallbearers were Chris Flowers, Kyle Mayberry, Chad Witcher, Chris Witcher, Jeff Franklin, and Danny Witcher Jr.  Arrangements were under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, located at 604 West Main in Denison, Texas.
