The Herald Democrat December 4, 2011 James Walter Truett, age 70, of Denison, Texas, passed away, Friday, December 2, 2011, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Truett was born on August 7, 1941, in Atoka County, Oklahoma, to James Hal and Addie Hazel Truett. He married Wilda Kennedy on January 4, 1963, in Sherman, Texas. To this union was born three sons, Darrell Glenn, Ronald James and Larry Jason. James loved to fish, hunt and gardening. James was also a home builder. He spent his life living in Oklahoma and Texas. He served as the pastor for the Inter-Denominational Church on Austin Avenue in Denison, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Wilda; son, Ron Truett and wife, Karen, of Denison, Texas; grandchildren, Veronica Jackson and husband, Travis; Timothy (T.J.) Coffman, Nesha Truett, Jake Truett, Emily Truett and Levi Truett; great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Emily and Nicholas Coffman; Amelia and Trevor Jackson; Sasha Tisdale; Vivian Shubert; and many other relatives and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by two sons, Darrell Truett and Jason Truett; two grandchildren, Katrina and Harly; his parents; brother, Don Truett; mother and father-in-law, Roy and Myrtle Kennedy. Graveside service was held on Tuesday, December 6, 2011, 2 p.m., at Oak Ridge Cemetery, Denison, Texas. His beloved family conducted the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Feed My Sheep Ministry and Word of Life Church, P.O. Box 144, Denison, Texas. 75020.
