James H. Sutherland, II 25 June 1982 - 26 August 2010 The Herald Democrat August 29, 2010 Denison - James Henry Sutherland II, age 28, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, August 26, 2010 at Parkland Hospital in Dallas. Mr. Sutherland was born June 25, 1982 in Hobbs, New Mexico, the son of James and Sharon (Rains) Sutherland. James was a fun-loving guy with a dynamic personality. He was a loving and caring father, son, brother and friend. James will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Mr. Sutherland is survived by his loving family: son, Noah Paine of Denison; parents, James Sutherland and wife, Judy, of Ashland, Kansas; and Sharon Sutherland of Denison; girlfriend, Kristin Campion, of Denison; siblings, Teresa Gee of Hobbs, New Mexico; Alan Smith and wife, Megan, of Plano; and Cathy Cobb and husband, James, of Denison; stepsisters, Cindy Millikan of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Dixie Bobeck of Spicewood; and Leslie Lloyd of Spicewood; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, August 30, 2010 at Southside Baptist Church in Denison with Rev. Keith Taylor officiating. Interment followed at Oakridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to Parkland Foundation, 2777 N. Stemmons Frwy, Suite 1700, Dallas, Texas 75207. Arrangements were under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, located at 604 West Main in Denison. Sharon Voncile Sutherland passed peacefully to her eternal heavenly home Monday, January 18, 2021 in Denison, Texas. Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, Anna Lee Howard of Portales, New Mexico; and Francis Clark Rains of Mineral Wells, Texas; her sister, Andrea Faye Chavez of Mineral Wells, Texas; and her son, James Henry Sutherland, II (Jamie) of Denison, Texas. She is survived by her children: Teresa Gee of Kingwood, Texas; Alan Smith of Frankston, Texas; and Cathy Cobb of Denison, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; her two brothers, Terry Rains of Dallas Oregon and Casey Rains of Hobbs, New Mexico. Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, January 23, 2021 at Fisher Funeral Home. Burial was immediately after the service at Oakridge Cemetery. Pallbearers were Isaish Jefferson, Noah Paine, Hayden Cobb, Cody Gee, and Nathan Mcmahan. Sharon had a heart for serving people and did so with food. Forever young at heart, her sense of humor could brighten anyone's day. Opinionated and boisterous, she was fiercely protective of her friends and family and always willing to help where she could.
