Tommy Dale Simpson, 58, of Calera, passed away Wednesday morning, October 15, 2008, at the Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas.
He was born January 24, 1950, in Borger, Texas, and was the son of William and Mary Lou McAnally Simpson. He attended Denison, Texas, schools and also served in the U.S. Army. He married Regina Sampson January 24, 1991, in Sherman, Texas. He was an auto mechanic and of the Baptist faith and had been a Byan County resident for the past 20 years.
He is survived by his wife of the home; children: Charity Swafford of Durant; Jennifer Mullens of Colbert; Christie Lewellen of Denison, Texas; Melissa Crain and Larry Lewellen, both of Colbert; Angela and Dusty Peebles, both of Cartwright; sister Barbara Smith and Kiley King of Bells, Texas; grandchildren Brittany and Dariun Swafford; John and Cheyenne Mullens; Langston Lardi; Chastina and Carley Crain; Rance Lewellen; Dusty Peebles, Jr.; Hunter and Kyle Peebles; and nieces and nephews, Jim Wade, Shane Guhl, Natasha Cruz, Renee Sisemore and husband, Jeremy; Mia and Antonio Cruz and Austin Sutterfield; as well as numerous cousins and many friends.
He was also preceded in death by his other mother, Louellen Simpson; and brother, Jerry Dale Simpson.
Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Cunningham Funeral Chapel in Colbert with Roger Speers, pastor for Kemp Baptist Church, officiating.  Burial followed in the Oakridge Cemetery, east of Denison, Texas.  Pallbearers were Roberta Patterson, Dawn Simpson, Jeaneen Simpson, Shelly Binyon, Mary Campbell and Kathy Harper.  Arrangements were entrusted to Cunningham Funeral Home in Colbert.
