The Herald Democrat October 27-28, 2013 Mrs. Simpson was born December 24, 1945 in Ladonia, the daughter of Monroe (Big 'Un) and Minnie Ann (Sharp) Simpson. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and the great joys of her life were her family and her faith in the Lord. She was a faithful servant to the Lord, helping others for more than 30 years as a home health nurse in the Dallas area. Evelyn enjoyed playing games and sewing. Her passing will leave a void in so many lives, but her spirit will dwell in our hearts forever. Mrs. Simpson leaves behind her children: son, Randy Free; daughters, Linda Nelson and fianc', Windon Askey; and Jessica Roten and husband, Chad; grandchildren, Ashley Free, Tracey Free, Cassidy Spinks, Brittney Free, Chrissy Roten, Alyssa Roten, Alexi Roten, and Will Askey; and 2 great-grandchildren, Brenna and Aliya. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. Monday at St. Luke's Episcopal Church with The Very Rev. Donald Perschall officiating. Interment followed in Oakridge Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, 604 W. Main, Denison.
