Everett J. Hood 6 August 1909 - 22 January 1972 Texas Corporal US Marine Corps WWII The Herald Democrat July 22, 2011 Denison – Eva Ray Hood, 95, passed away on July 18, 2011 in Paris, Texas. Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Bratcher Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was at Oakridge Cemetery in Denison. Pallbearers were Joe David Williamson, Wesley Gore, Dean Hess, Joe Keitz, Nick Keitz and Franklin Nibblits. Eva was born September 6, 1915 in Quinlan, Texas, the daughter of Willis B. Williamson and Myrtle (Mitchell) Williamson. She graduated from Quinlan High School and moved to Denison, where she married E. J. "Buster" Hood on April 19, 1942. She was a member of the Belmont Baptist Church in Denison. She loved to sew and make quilts for her family. She went to beautician school and worked as a beauty operator. She always wanted to open her own shop and in 1952 opened her beauty shop on a part-time basis; she worked at the local Levi Strauss plant for many years; later worked at Texas Instruments; retired from Texas Instruments and then worked in her beauty shop until it closed in 2004. Mrs. Hood is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Patsy Nash of Paris; grandchildren, Trampas Nash, Natalie and Joel Hutchison, Amanda Nash; great-grandchildren, Doran and Ben Hutchison; brother, W. B. Williamson of Cartwright, Oklahoma; and sister Margaret Preston of Denison. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buster Hood; parents; brothers Herman (H. P.) Williamson, Willis Williamson, and L. C. Williamson; sisters, Emma Bagwell and Mae Miller. Eva was a loving mother, sister, aunt and friend. She requested that people wear pink to her funeral and in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the March of Dimes, 2007 Texoma Parkway, Suite 187, Sherman, Texas 75090. Arrangements were entrusted to Bratcher Funeral Home, 401 W. Woodard Street, Denison, TX 75020 (903) 465-2323.
