Larry C. Gouge passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 21, 2016 in Dallas, Texas. He was born December 14, 1946 in Denison Texas to Cletus and Pearl Gouge. Larry was a proud 1965 graduate of Denison High School. He worked many years as a buyer at Babcock's Auto Stores in Denison. In 1987 he opened Bi-Lo Wholesale on Houston Ave. in Denison. In 2008 Larry, his family and all Bi-Lo associates moved into a new building at 610 S. Mirick where he built a lifetime legacy of business and family for his children to carry on. In 2015, Larry received the Community Builders Award from Spence Redwine of Lone Star Masonic Lodge #403 for his lifetime of supporting and cultivating positive impacts in the Denison Community and surrounding area. This award is the Highest Honor bestowed upon a non-Mason by the Grand Lodge of Texas. On August 2, 1968 Larry married his partner for life, Alice K. Smith. They spent a life together devoted to raising a family and working hard. These were Larry's two passions in life, his family and his work ethic. He has been an inspiration to many extended family members, close friends, and business associates. Larry always put others first and loved helping people. He found joy in the last years of his life spending time taking nature road trips, playing dominoes and attending many of his grandkid’s sporting events. Larry is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 47 years, Alice Gouge; sons, Kenneth Gouge and wife, Kristi, of Denison; and Barry Gouge of Denison; daughter, Kerrie Hunt and husband, Parker, of Denison; brother, Bill Gouge of Denison; sisters, Betty Richardson and husband, Phillip, of Ivanhoe; and Carolyn Lay and husband, Mark Doyle, of Denison; grandchildren, Nicole Gouge of Nacogdoches; Madeline Fisher, Logan Fisher, Hannah Gouge, Richard Gouge, Maddox Fisher and Lincoln Fisher, all of Denison. Larry is also survived by numerous other loving family members and longtime friend and business partner, Skip Fairman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cletus and Pearl Gouge. Serving as pallbearers were Jared Fox, Robert Lay, Don Lehner, Johnny Lehner, Mike Lehner, and Steven Richardson. Honorary pallbearers were Brandon Richardson, Wesley Richardson, James Smithson and Brian Smith.
