Delia Bailey Wilburn 10 December 1917 - 7 February 2017 John Henry Wilburn 25 Octob er 1912 - 17 June 1977 William Lewis Wilburn 30 November 1934 - 1 October 1999 Delia Evelyn Norman passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Texoma Medical Center in Denton, Texas after 99 years of an extraordinary life. Delia was born December 10, 1917, one of five children, the daughter of Don William Bailey and Emmie Dea Rice Bailey. She married John Henry Wilburn, the love of her live, on March 30, 1934. Henry passed away June 17, 1977. She then married Woodrow Norman on February 1, 1997 and he passed away January 6, 2008. She was a proud mother of two sons, Lewis and Carl. Delia attended Shiloh School on E. Main St. and Denison High School at B. McDaniel in Denison. She was very active in her children's schools; served as president of Peabody PTA, held several offices as president and received a Texas Life Membership and National Life Membership award. Delia was also very active in church work at Trinity Methodist Church Leadership. She became a Christian and joined the church in 1942, held several offices in United Methodist Woman leadership for a number of years; she was elected to the Board of Trustees and was the first woman to serve at Trinity Church as a board member and trustee; a choir member four years; member of Trinity for 60 plus years; teacher for Sunday School, Bible school, and Bible studies for United Methodist Women. She started working at Texoma Medical Center in 1983 as an Auxiliary Volunteer and received a plaque at the hospital for serving 9,000 hours. She also worked the election polls from 1950 to 1996 and was elected judge for several years. Delia was a very accomplished artist, seamstress and craftsman until she lost her eye sight to Macular Degeneration in 2007. She is survived by her son, Carl E. Wilburn and daughter-in-law, Christa, of Bonsall, California; granddaughter, Sandra and Scott Mackinnon; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Lauren, and Shawn of Escondido, California; grandson, Bryan Karl Wilburn, of Brea, California; brother, Don William Bailey, Jr. and family of Irving, Texas; great-granddaughter, Johnice and Tywon Hull; and great-great-grandchildren, Rebecca Hansley, Tyonna and Neveah Hull of Denison, Texas; great-grandson, Johnathon Hansley and great-great-grandchildren, Kiley Hansley and Libby. She was preceded in death by granddaughter, Cynthia Ann Wilburn, died December 1, 1979; and son, William Lewis Wilburn, died October 1, 1999.
