Bailey 18 May 1905 - 9 November 1957 The Denison Press Friday, November 15, 1957 pg. 3 Charles John Bailey, 52, died in a local hospital Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Funeral services were held at Johnson-Moore Chapel Monday afternoon with Rev. Ray Milligan officiating. Interment was in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Mr. Bailey had been a patient in Madonna Hospital 2 weeks where he was thought to be recovering satisfactorily from major surgery. His death was sudden and unexpected. He was born in Alpine, Oregon in May 1905, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Bailey. He came with his family from Oregon when he was 8 and settled in the Oak Ridge community. He graduated from Denison High School and Draughon's Business College and farmed until 1950 when he moved to Denison and worked as a butcher. He was employed as a butcher at Woodard Street Market at the time of his death. He was married to Katherine [sic] Kelly of Denison, who is a science teacher at Junior High school. Mr. Bailey is survived by 2 sons, Charles William Bailey, in the Air Force stationed at Colorado Springs, and Paul Bailey of Denison; a daughter, Mrs. Joe Hollingsworth of Arlington; 2 brothers, Ash Bailey of Junction City, Oregon, and Dell Bailey of Las Cruces, New Mexico; and 3 sisters, Mrs. Cecil Hightower of Artesia, New Mexico; Mrs. W.C.
