EMPTY GUN BESIDE BODY TELLS DEATH SELF-INFLICTED
The story of self-inflicted wounds which produced death was told, when the body of Charles W. Hock was found on his front porch early Sunday morning at his home on Carpenter's Bluff, east of Denison, and an empry 12-gauge shotgun was lying at his side, according to the verdict of Justice of the Peace Charles McKemy, who viewed the body when the report was turned in by J.M. Lashley.
On hearing the report of a gun, Mr. Lashley, who resides in the Hock home, went to investigate with the result indicated.  He immediately made a report to the police department.
Mr. Hock is declared to have been in ill health for some time.  HIs age was given as 39.  The body was removed to the Bratcher-Moore funeral home to await the funeral service in the afternoon of Monday.  Interment was at Oakridge cemetery.
Born in Denison, June 22, 1909, Mr. Hock was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Martin Hock, and received his education in Denison schools.  He was married in Carpenter's Bluff on October 10, 1931 to Miss Gertie Mae Lashley.  He was employed in the Parkay department of Kraft plant here.
Mr. Hock is survived by his widow; parents; 2 daughters, Opal Louise and Dorothy Joan Hock, Route 1; a brother, Fred Hock of Denison; 7 sisters, Mrs. Rosie Jay, Mrs. Margaret Rodd, Helen Goode, Mrs. Irene Duckett, Misses Frances, Mary Jo and Alice Hock, all of Denison.
