Flossie M. Ramsey 9 August 1887 - 6 October 1954 Allen W. Ramsey 19 July 1880 - 18 January 1956 The Denison Press Friday, October 15, 1954 pg. 5 Funeral services were held at Bratcher-Moore chapel Friday for Mrs. Flossie May Ramsey, 67, of 733 E. Main, who died at her home Wednesday from a sudden illness. Burial was in Oakridge Cemetery. Mrs. Ramsey was born in Pontiac, Michigan, August 9, 1887, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Ure of Scotland. She came to Denison 55 years ago and was married in 1905 to A.W. Ramsey, farmer. She was a member of the Carpenter's Bluff Baptist church. Survivors are her husband, A.W. Ramsey; five sons, J.M. and C.L. of Sherman; A.W. of Whitesboro; and W.M. of Dallas; two daughters, Mrs. Nellie Cryer of Ft. Worth and Mrs. Ida Beson of Tennessee; a brother, Bill Ure of Oklahoma; a sister, Mrs. Gladys Thomas; and 18 grandchildren. The Denison Press Friday, January 17, 1956 pg.5 Allen W. Ramsey, 75, native of Grayson county, died in Dexter at the house of a son, Allen, Jr. at 11:40 p.m. January 18. Funeral services were held at Bratcher-Moore chapel Sunday afternoon with Rev. Bruch Cushman officiating. Interment was in Oakridge Cemeter with Bratcher-Moore in charge. Mr. Ramsey had moved from Denison to Dexter 6 months ago. His death came suddenly. He was born July 19, 1880, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Ramsey. He was married June 24, 1906 to Flossie Ure, who died in 1954. He was a farmer and a member of the Methodist church. Survivors are 5 sons, J.M. and Clyde of Denison; T.M. and W.M. of Dallas; and Allen of Dexter; 2 daughters, Mrs. Nellie Cryer of Ft. Worth and Mrs. Ida Beason of Chattanooga, Tennessee; brother, M.F. Ramsey of Achille; 2 sisters, Mrs. A.B. Garner of Hartshorne, Oklahoma and Mrs. Melvina Baxondale of Wilmington, Oklahoma; and 19 grandchildren.
