 The Denison Press Friday, August 30, 1940 pg. 1 The infant son of Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Mathes of Cooper, Texas, died at the home of his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. W.D. Poarch at Palestine. Funeral services will be conducted at Oakridge cemetery upon arrival of the body here, with Rev. J.F. Murrell officiating. Short-Murray, funeral directors, in charge of arrangements. The baby is survived by his parents of Cooper; his grandparents of Palestine and his grandmother, Mrs. Maggie Mathes, 915 W. Sears, Denison. Mr. Mathes formerly resided in Denison and is now stationed with the Texas highway department at Cooper.
