May 12, 2018 Dorothy L. (House) Gafford of Colbert, Oklahoma was born on May 13, 1940 in Ambrose, Texas to Vernon and Irene (Miller) House and passed away on May 9, 2018 in Sherman, Texas at the age of 77. Dorothy was married to Glyn Gafford and she worked as a LVN until her retirement. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Platter. She enjoyed watching baseball and traveling, The greatest joys in her life was her family, especially her grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Albert Wayne, Vernon Jr. and Bobby Earl House and sister, Mary Ann Kirby. Dorothy is survived by her children, Wanda Stanglin and husband Eric, Cindy Hastings and husband Jim and Danny Jones and wife Cindy all of Colbert, OK; husband Glyn Gafford; step children, Robin Moore, Jo Gibby and husband Bobby, Sam Gafford and wife Karla and Carla Gafford; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, May 14, 2018 at Brown's Funeral Service Chapel in Durant, OK. Pastor Randy Lewis will officiate. Interment will follow in Oakridge Cemetery in Denison, TX with Brandon Beauchamp, Zach Stanglin, Jared Stanglin, Jamie Hastings, Earnie Garland and Darren Rawls serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Sunday evening from 6-8 PM. Arrangements are under the direction of Brown's Durant Funeral and Cremation Service.
