Richard Raymond Williams, 62, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at his home in Denison, Texas. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning, January 30, 2019 at Grayson Bible Baptist Church in Sherman with Dr. Eddy Johnson officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Collinsville, Texas. Rick was born March 29, 1956 in Landstuhl, West German, son of F.L. Williams and Maria Monica Altenburger. Rick worked in the HVAC/refrigeration company, drove a gasoline tanker, and began an 18-year career as the HVAC Supervisor at the Buster Cole State Jail in Bonham, Texas. As much as Rick loved his chosen profession, he loved the people brought into his life even more. Never on to meet a stranger, Rick made a difference in the lifes of countless people. His love for his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was evident in every aspect of his life, and he was quick to share the knowledge of his Savior with those around him. His sincerity, wisdom, and sense of humor guided many through hardships and pointed them straight to Jesus Christ. After his Lord, his greatest love was his family. He married the love of his life, Sherry Ann Johnson, on December 16, 1977. Through the 41 years of love and laughter they shared - in both blessings and trials - they remained true to each other and to the One who brought them together. The legacy Rick leaves for his family is full of faith, love and joyful devotion to his Lord. He wishes us all to remember the scripture God gave him during his final mission on earth. "Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In everything give thanks. For this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." I Thessalonians 5:16-18. These are the words he lived before us and the words he encouraged us to live.
