Jo Ann Jones (Bowman)
Sunday December 31, 1933 - Saturday April 9, 2022 On the 9th day of April 2022 at the age of 88, Jo Jones left this world to meet her Savior. One can only imagine the celebration that took place and the crowd of saints, friends and family that were gathered to greet her. Jo was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, where she would later meet Clarence Jones, a handsome military man and farm boy from Reading, Kansas. Jo and Clarence were married on June 25, 1950, and over their nearly 66 years together welcomed seven children, nineteen grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren. She was a wife, mom, grandmother, teacher, minister, mentor, and friend. She was kind, compassionate, long-suffering, loving, and also sharp and witty with a touch of sass. More than that, she was an example to so many of what it really means to be Christ-like, and that is the legacy for which she would most want to be remembered. Jo is preceded in death by her husband, Clarence E. Jones, Jr.; son, Craig Jones; daughter, Karen Larson; mother, Maggie Franz; and grandson, Ryan Jones. She is survived by three sons, K.C. Jones, Kelley Jones, and Kyle Jones; two daughters, Cynthia Jones and Kristi Riley; 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters; as well as countless friends and family she has touched throughout her life. Services: A Celebration of Life will be held for Jo at 11 am on Friday, April 15th, 2022, at the First Baptist Church of Gordonville, Texas. The Graveside Service will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery in Sandusky, Texas. Viewing will take place prior to the service, from 10 - 11 am. All are welcome. Memorials may be given to Mission Dignity, an organization dedicated to providing financial support to retired ministers and their widows. More information can be found, and donations can be made in Jo's name at guidestone.org. The family of Jo Jones wishes to extend our sincere gratitude for all those who were instrumental in her care, including our beloved Dr. Joseph Benson, and the nurses at both Elara Caring and Home Hospice.
