POTTSBORO - Robert J. Peters, 74-year-old Pottsboro resident, passed away Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010 at his home. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010 at Mt. Tabor Cemetery with Dennis Hulsy officiating. Mr. Peters was born on July 19, 1936 in Bradford, Pa., son of Howard Joseph and Eleta May Johnson Peters. He married Bobbie Jo Cook on May 27, 1957 in Fort Worth. She preceded him in death on July 17, 1998. Mr. Peters was a Union Christian and a 50-year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was an Air Force/ Korean conflict veteran. Pallbearers will be Ronnie Embry, Kimberly Sergeant, C.L. Moore, Bill Nelson, Jeff Sargeant and Liberty Richburg. Surviving are his son, Robert A. Peters; daughters, Racein Rutledge, Darlein Roe, Kathryn Sublett and Lori Peters; sisters, Norma Hasseck and Jenny Crawford; grandchildren, Amanda Jo Whitney, Karley Rae Roe, Allen Sublett, Charma Farris, Carl Sublett, Ashley Page, Tanner Peters, Hunter Peters, Alyssa Peters, Amber Welch, Jesse Welch and Kimberly Wehmeir; and 15 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bobbie Jo Peters; brothers, Gary Lee Peters and Allan Peters; and sister, Lorraine Peters. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 28 at the Johnson-Moore Pottsboro Chapel. Condolences may be registered at www.johnsonmoorefuneralhome.net.
