  M. Gentry 28 June 1823 - 4 May 1890 Elizabeth Gentry 12 August 1840 - 15 May 1911  Journal of Gentry Genealogy Volume 2 issue 3 March 2002 MARTIN GENTRY (1823 - 1890) Martin Gentry came with his family to Grayson County, Texas from Benton County, Arkansas prior to 1860.
Johathan Gentry, Martin's brother, moved his family to Grayson County, Texas also. Martin's other brother, Andrew J. Gentry, continued to live in Benton County Arkansas. After Andrew's death during the Civil War, his widow, children and mother, Susannah Gentry, moved to Grayson County. Martin homesteaded on 160 acres of land that was public domain on Desert Creek. Martin died 4 May 1890 and is buried in Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Collin County, Texas beside his second wife (name not listed).  Mt.
