Theodore Roulain  Theodore Roulain CSA 10th AL Co.B. French Huguenot descendant of Robert S. Roulain. James Theodore enlisted in Co. B 10th Alabama Infantry March 10th, 1862. He enlisted at Elyton (Birmingham)Jefferson Co. Alabama. James was 17 years old. He was sent to Richmond, Va.and was captured by Union Forces June 28th 1862 At Harrison's Landing. He was sent to Fort Delaware July 9th 1862, then to Fort Columbus N.Y., then to a prison ship in New York Harbor. While on ship prisoners suffered from hunger as their diet consisted of badly prepared fish. The rest of his life he could not tolerate the smell of fish. He was in a group of prisoners exchanged for union prisoners at Aikens Landing Va. , Aug. 5th 1862, and returned to Co. B Infantry. In Feb. and March, 1864 he was in Howard's Grove General Hospital Richmond Va. with Variola (smallpox). On May 26, 1864, he was wounded in battle of Hanover Junction (shot through calf of his leg).
