VAN ALSTYNE. - Mrs. Pearl Miller of Van Alstyne has two sons in the U.S. marines, enlisting together in May 1941. They were born and reared in the Sedalia and Van Alstyne communities. They have two sisters, Miss Jane Miller of Dallas and Mrs. Betty Hunter of the Cannon community. Private Albert R. Miller, 19, is believed to be a prisoner of the Japanese since the loss of Guam to the Japs. The last letter that his mother received from him was Dec. 2, 1941. Private Davis G. Miller, 22, is in service somewhere in the Pacific. He is a graduate of Van Alstyne high school and was an outstanding player on the Panthers basketball squad.
