BODY OF LOCAL MAN IS FOUND IN BOMBER WRECKAGE
The body of Sgt. Leonard  B. Hughes, 31, of Sherman who was one of 11 airmen killed in the crash of a B- 50 bomber near Savannah, Georgia, December 21, has been found, according to word received by his wife,
Mrs. Viola Banks Hughes.
Graveside services are to be held at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, directed by Waldo Funeral Home at a time to be announced.
Sgt. Hughes was born at Sherman, March 22, 1918, son of Mr. and Mrs. A.B. Hughes.  He was married to Viola Banks December 31, 1939.
He served in England, Puerto Rico and on Okinawa.  He joined the Air Force December 31, 1939.  He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; his father; one daughter, Nancy Carol Hughes of Sherman; one brother, Glen Hughes of Sherman; 3 sisters, Mrs. Carl Vessels of Southmayd; Mrs. J.P. Wright and Miss Sue Sneed of Sherman.
Memorial services for Sgt. Hughes were conducted at Southmayd, January 1.
