Walter B. Holland The Whitewright Sun
Friday, December 6, 1918 pg. 1 FROM SOMEWHERE IN FRANCE October 28 - Dear Ones at Home: Received your letter. Surely was glad to hear from you and that you are well. This leaves me o.k. I am liking France better every day; it is a very good country, but it does not look like old U.S.A. I have seen a great deal of this country and expect to see more of it before I come back to Whitewright. I have been in hearing distance of the big guns nearly all of the time I have been over here. I hope they will soon cease to roar. But if they were to tell me I could start for home today, I would say, no. I will wait and go with the boys when it is over. Tell mother I received those things she sent me. They surely are nice, and I thank her very much. Love to all. Walter B. Holland Co.
