Burrell Hefner  Burrell
"Burl" Hefner, a native of Catawba C ounty, NC, he served during the
Civil War in Company F, 32nd Regiment, NC Troops. HEFNER, BURRELL C.,
Private - Resided in Iredell County and enlisted at Camp Holmes, near
Raleigh, at age 18, April 13, 1863, for the war. Present or accounted
for until captured at or near Spotsylvania Court House, Virginia, on or
about May I0, 1864. Confined at Point Lookout, Maryland, May 18, 1864.
Transferred to Elmira, New York, August 3, 1864. Released at Elmira on
June 27, 1865, after taking the Oath of Allegiance.
