James Waterson Cook 37 More Men Sent
To Armed Service Thirty-seven Denison men were inducted into the armed services Dec. 1, draft board announced today. These men include: John Thomas Sanders, Jr., Robert Walker McKellar, Eugene Wentzlous Hoedebeck, Leo Paul Massie, W. M. Jackson, James M. Foust, Emmett Edmon Caddell, Robert Brown Derebery, John Andrew Schindler, Fred Aaron Clark, Robert Lee Henderson, J. B. Pilkilton, Elva Elvert Hudson, Thomas William Riddle, J.T. Geere, Virgil L. Brown, Julian Thomas Chrisman, Edward Lyle Swink, James Waterson Cook, Dale Monroe Dickey, William Thomas Center Jr., Preston Olli Lawrence, Roy Ray Sloan. Otto Frederick Kusch Jr., J. P. Francis, Jack Moser, Vernon McAlister, Morris James Smith, Arthur Goalder Lee, Jack Hawkins, F. A. Asheroft, L. C. Cardell, Emery Wandell Booe, J. I. Gilliam Brileg, Hubert Leo Sissney, L. V. Franklin Perry, and Don William Bailey Jr. I had a Dear Brother he was kind and good to every Body. in December 8 1945 at the age of 23, he was called to the armed forces. I don't understand as he was the only Boy my Dear Father and mother had. he had 6 sisters, who was kind and good to him and loved him Dear. Which left them very sad when they called him away. he trained in Camp Hood 6 months 11 days he came home on his Furlow May 23 and June 5th he left for the camp imbarkecation in the Pacific. it was June the 9 when he landed there at Port.Ord and on June 14 they shiped my Dear Brother some where we never heard from him no more til July 7, 1945.
