Cannon Enlisted at Dallas, Dallas, Texas September 10, 1861. Age 21. He had a Double Barrel Gun, a 6-Shooter, a $130 Horse and $20 worth of gear. He was sick at Camp Washington in November-December 1861. Present in January - February Sick in quarters, March-April 1862 (Battle of Elkhorn Tavern/Pea Ridge, northwest AR) Present till October 1862 Furloughed to Texas WIA (Wounded in action at Battle of Corinth, Mississippi October 3, 1863.
