Likes the Seabees

A letter from Chief Petty Officer CAREY L. ANDERSON, with the Seabees in training camp at Camp Pearcy, Va., has
this
to say about the kind of men in that branch of the service: "It takes a lot of time and we have to keep pushing
to win this war. We have so much to be done, so many men to be trained we can not neglect our responsibility to
our country even though it means personal sacrifice and almost total neglect of our personal time and matters.
That's why I will do well if I can answer the letters from you and that sweet wife I left in Sherman. No time for
anything but to put everything we have into doing everything we can to help win this war. Moral high, everyone gets
along ship-shape, and the Seebees know what most of the answers are. They are a fine outfit to know as friends, but
we believe our enemies are going to find out they are concentrated dynamite and a double dose of poison. The
Seabees are an outfit to keep your eyes on, their "esprit de cors" is nothing short of miraculous." Cf. P. O.
Anderson writes also that a large number of the Seabees in his camp are from Texas.
