February 24, 2010 Sherman - Dale Gene Griffin, 53-year-old Sherman resident, passed away Friday, February 19, 2010 at Wilson N. Jones Medical Center. Services were held Friday noon, February 26 at Parkview Church of Christ in Sherman with Bro. Welton Stoker officiating. Burial followed at Magnolia Cemetery in Denison. Mr. Griffin was born November 14, 1956 in Denison, son of Virgie O. Griffin. He graduated from Denison High School and Grayson County College with a degree in business management. He received a BA in criminal justice from AXIA College Western International University in Phoenix, Arizona. He was employed by Bergon Foods-Pizza Hut in Denison and the Sherman area for 25 years. Surviving are his daughters, Bridget Felecia Shaw and Brandy Bryant; mother, Virgie Olivia Coney; goddaughter, Taylor Lewers; sister, Laurie Morris-Daniels; grandchildren, Bra' Lyn, Rayven, Zelecia, and Jeremiah; favorite nieces, Tasgel Griffin and Patrice Morris; nephews, Gerald D. Morris and Tevin Daniels; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, and special friends at Pizza Hut.
