  Marie Riddle Payne 11 March 1906 - 8 September 1979  Edwina M. Riddle 8 March 1931 - 16 November 1956 Edwina
Marie Riddle was born in Houston Co., Texas but was raised in Denison,
Texas. She was the daughter of Dr. Roscoe Conklin Riddle and
Marie Antoinette Harper Riddle. Edwina relocated with her family
to Benton Harbor, Michigan around 1945. She attended Benton
Harbor High School, Grinnell College, and Wayne University. She
worked as a bank teller in Detroit.
She married Read Spigener, an electrical engineer, formerly of Montgomery, Alabama, on June 2, 1956 in Benton Harbor, Michigan.  Marie Antoinette Harper Riddle Payne was born in Tuskegee, Alabama, daughter of Carrie Harper. She married Dr. Roscoe Riddle in 1927 in Texas. Marie and Roscoe had 2 children, Edwina Riddle Spigener and Gladys Riddle Martin. Marie and Roscoe raised their children in Crocket and Denison, Texas until the family relocated to Benton Harbor, Michigan around 1945. Dr. Riddle died in 1950 and Marie then married Dr. Arthur C. Payne of East Chicago, Indiana where she lived until her death. Marie was a member of Links, Inc.
