Darrin V. Harper 22 February 1975 - 31 March 2012 The Herald Democrat April 5, 2012 SHERMAN - A celebration of life for Mr. Darrin Harper, 37, of Denison was held Saturday afternoon, April 7, 2012 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, located at 530 W. Walker St., Denison. Pastor K.W. King, will officiate. Burial followed at Magnolia Cemetery, in Denison. Darrin Victor Harper was born February 22, 1975 in Denison. He was the fifth and youngest of five sons and a twin to a sister (Karen), born to the parentage of Frank Benjamin and Barbara Charlene Harper. His father preceded him in death. Darrin, affectionately known as Heavy D, received his formal education in Denison, graduating from Denison Senior High. He attended Grayson County College. He also was employed with Fed Ex and Texoma Community Center. As a young man Darrin met the love of his life in the 7th grade and married the former Angie Donelson on May 27, 2000. Together, they were blessed with three daughters who were the joy of their lives. Darrin accepted Christ as his personal Savior and united with the Mt. Zion Baptist Church at the age of 11 years old. He was a faithful member until the Angel of silence visited him Saturday morning March 31, 2012 in Beacon Hill in Denison. Left with precious memories are his mother, Barbara Harper of Denison; the love of his life, Angie Donelson Harper; brothers, Benny Jenkins of Denison, Charles Jenkins (Linda) of San Angelo, John Jenkins of San Antonio, and Erick Harper of Tucson, Arizona; sisters, Jackie Priester (James) of Ft. Worth; Bridget Scruggs (Kenneth) of Lewisville; Freda Jenkins of Sherman; and Karen Ellis (Stacey) of Greensboro, North Carolina; children, Brionna Harper, Kaitie Donelson, and Alexa Donelson of Denison, and Devin McKinney of Sherman; along with a host of other relatives and friends. The family of Darrin Harper has entrusted the celebration arrangements to the personal care of Cravens Funeral Home.
