Denison Daily News Friday, April 9, 1880 TO THE MEMORY OF MRS W P BRADLEY by Her husband The spring’s soft winds are blowing now, Are murmuring softly ‘round. And the fairest flower of summer Lies budding in the ground. And O, my heart is sad today, One fair sweet flower has past Too soon from this bright world away Before Death’s chilling blast. I could not say farewell on earth, To never meet again, Nor look upon thy still white face, And silent bear the pain. Soon thou has passed away from earth, Vain were all hopes to save; And bitter tears are falling, Maude, Upon thy early grave. Perhaps ‘til well that thou hast died, This pleasant spring tide day. Before Life’s autumn drear had tinged Those golden curls with gray. Before those bright blue eyes were dimmed, By age or grief or woe Ere cruel Time deep furrows made Upon Thy heart and brow.
