Collinsville - Funeral services for Alfred Fred Argo, 90, of Collinsville were held Wednesday morning, December 12, 2018 at Meador Funeral Home in Whitesboro, officiated by Bro. Martin Carmichael. Interment followed at Macomb Cemetery. Alfred passed away Friday, December 7, 2018 at his home in Collinsville. He was born September 10, 1928 in Tioga, Texas to Claud and Bertha Huling Argo. He served our country as a United States Marine in the Pacific during World War II. He received a Purple Heart during this time. He married Vernell Belz in Denton, Texas on October 15, 1953 and together they raised 2 sons. He worked for Southland Paint as a truck driver and retired from there after 37 years. Alfred is survived by his wife of Collinsville; son, Kenneth Argo and wife, Donna, of Collinsville; son, Gary Argo of Sanger, Texas; grandchildren, Amber Paukert and husband, Martin, of Napa, California; Ashley Argo of Irving, Texas; Lisa Ford and husband, Kelly, of Whitesboro; Brad Argo of Sacramento, California; great-grandchildren, Loreleii Peinelope, Daphne and Eli, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bryant, Arthur, Todd and Claude; and sisters, Virginia, Alice, Johnnie Mae, Bessie and Wilma. Pallbearers were Brad Argo, Rick Belz, Danny Dillion, Jeff Belz, David Belz, and Ricky Henry. Honorary pallbearer was Steve Bishop.
